Corporate translation services, managed as a project

A single birth certificate can be ordered in two minutes. A product manual, a set of supplier contracts or a year of financial reporting needs something different: scoping, consistent terminology, a single point of contact and a delivery plan.

That is how Lingua. works with businesses. For more than 25 years we have translated documents for organizations across government, healthcare and financial services, drawing on a large international network of professional translators. Business work is scoped and quoted individually; it doesn’t go through the document checkout. We work online with companies, law firms and organizations throughout the United States, from our base in Miami.

Our professional translation experience includes projects for organizations such as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Cigna, the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Bank of America. Naming them describes our experience; it does not imply endorsement.

Who we work with

Our business clients range from small firms with an occasional contract to organizations with steady multilingual demand. Typical teams include:

  • Legal departments and law firms translating agreements, evidence and compliance materials.
  • Procurement and operations teams working with international suppliers, tenders and specifications.
  • Healthcare organizations preparing patient-facing materials and medical documentation in the languages their communities speak.
  • Financial firms handling statements, banking documents and client correspondence.
  • Manufacturers and technology companies localizing manuals, safety information and product documentation.

Terminology, quality review and confidentiality

Terminology consistency

In business documents, inconsistency reads as error. A part called one thing on page 4 and something else on page 90 creates confusion, and in a contract it can create ambiguity. We work from your glossary, earlier translations and style preferences when you have them, and keep terms consistent across documents and over time.

Quality review

Every page is handled by a professional human translator in the relevant language pair. Translations are checked against the source for completeness, figures, names and formatting before delivery.

Confidentiality

Contracts, financial data and medical records are confidential by nature. Tell us your requirements, such as a non-disclosure agreement or a specific way of transferring files, before you send documents, and we’ll confirm how we can meet them.

The cost of an ambiguous translation is rarely the translation itself. It’s the dispute, the recall or the rejected filing that follows.

Large-volume and ongoing translation projects

For large or recurring work, a project is planned before translation begins: what will be translated, in which languages, in what order and by when.

  • Dedicated project coordination. One contact who knows your project, your terminology and your deadlines.
  • Staged delivery. Large projects can be delivered in agreed batches, so your team can start using translated material sooner.
  • Ongoing multilingual work. Recurring documents such as reports, policies or product updates keep the same terminology from one cycle to the next.
  • Certified when needed. Documents for courts, regulators or government offices can be certified, and notarized if required.

Formats and delivery

Tell us how you’ll use the translation and we’ll plan the format around it. Editable documents can usually be returned in the same file type, so your team can keep working in familiar tools. Scanned or image-only files are translated into a clean, readable layout. If translated text needs to fit an existing design, such as a brochure, form or label, mention it in your brief so it can be scoped from the start.

Build your project brief

Fill in what you know and we’ll have what we need to scope your project. The brief is created in your browser; nothing is stored or sent until you copy it or open it in your own email app.

“Email this brief” opens your own email app addressed to [email protected]. If it doesn’t open, copy the brief and email it to that address.

How a business project works

  1. Send your brief and, once we’ve agreed how, sample documents.
  2. We review the scope and ask about terminology, formats and deadlines.
  3. You receive a quote and schedule before any work begins.
  4. Translation and review by professional human translators, with one coordinator as your contact.
  5. Delivery in the agreed format, with follow-up for questions or changes.
